Looking out of my window, I see a landscape of symbols. The rectangular forms of buildings and homes provide shelter, carefully planted trees attempt to imitate the randomness of nature, and street lamps light the way like the sun. Humans have refashioned the earth, covering it with their own creations, which imitate the shapes of nature and draw from the collective pool of shared experiences and desires.
